ROSE Hands Over Six New Homes at Lawford Green

ROSE Hands Over Six New Homes at Lawford Green

On Saturday 30th November 2024, Rose was pleased to announce the handover of six newly completed homes to the Lawford Housing Enterprise Trust (LHET) at Lawford Green. This milestone further strengthens the Trust’s mission to provide affordable rented housing for young residents within the local area.

These homes are integral to LHET’s innovative housing scheme, designed to empower tenants to save for future home ownership. Departing from traditional rental arrangements, the LHET model eliminates upfront fees. Instead, tenants make an affordable monthly payment that covers their rent and includes a savings contribution toward a future property deposit.

Alan Coley, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LHET, praised the program’s impact: “This initiative has been life-changing, enabling many tenants to transition to home ownership. We are thrilled to expand this model in future developments, continuing to provide opportunities for young local residents to achieve their housing goals.”

The Lawford Green development addresses critical housing challenges in the local community by offering affordable solutions today while paving a pathway for long-term financial stability and home ownership. Tenants for the properties were carefully selected based on the Trust’s mission to prioritise those who live or work locally.

One of the new tenants shared her experience “Moving into a Trust property has given my family a new start. The home is perfect for us, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the Lawford Green community.”

The addition of these six homes underscores LHET’s commitment to expanding affordable housing options and creating sustainable housing solutions in Lawford. The Trust remains dedicated to fostering collaboration with partners to grow its  portfolio, now standing at 31properties between Lawford and Mistley, and it goes a long way to address the local area’s housing needs.
